What is an Australian Apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship or traineeship combines on-the-job training and work experience (while in paid employment) with formal off-the-job training. It can be full-time or part-time. An apprenticeship is completed over four years, whilst a traineeship is completed over 12 months. At the end of the period the apprentice or trainee will receive a nationally recognised qualification which can lead to further qualifications such as a diploma or university degree.
